The year 2022 is halfway over, and the NFL is getting closer to kickoff. Several franchises have taken some steps in building the roster. However, there is still time in the offseason. However, several athletes have not struck a deal. But they are willing to take a chance. Even Robert Griffin III, now a well-known analyst, has left the door open for a comeback.

Robert Griffin III, a Baylor legend, has left a legacy, but off the ground. The Heisman Trophy winner ships his focus from the game, which paid off well. He is now a well-recognized ESPN analyst and functioning in the booth as a commentator. RG3 transitioned so seamlessly that it felt like the booth was just for him.

Robert Griffin III is successful in his current job. But he hasn’t left off an NFL return on the horizon. The free-agent quarterback expresses his desire to play to Christopher Williams of  KWTX  in Waco, Texas. Furthermore, he has held himself ready to do just that.

RG3 mentions, “I am ready to go right now. I train every day. I throw and work out. I know what it takes to get my body ready and I am doing those things. Yes, it is a little bit tougher when you are flying around everywhere doing stuff for TV, but when you really want something, you make it work. So, if I get that call this year, next year, or five years from now, I will be ready to play.”

Several teams called Robert Griffin III after his 40-yard dash

Rich Eisen hosted the “ Run Rich Run ” charity fundraiser in 2022. Some of the finest players raced alongside Robert Griffin III, who clocked a 4.48 in the 40-yard. It is an incredibly swift time. Even though it was unofficial and for charity, Griffin sparked interest among a few NFL franchises who reached out to him.

Griffin played for the Browns for one year after spending four seasons in Washington. He worked as a backup in Baltimore for three years after going unsigned in 2017. When RG3 was a free agent, he signed a contract with ESPN.

Despite all the interest, he has yet to work out or receive any offers. However, there are chances of him resuming professional competition. Not to forget, Griffin is just 32 years old, which is relatively a young age for a quarterback.

Baltimore Ravens 2021: News, Schedule, Roster, Score, Injury Report

\r\n

The Baltimore Ravens are one of the newer teams in the NFL and play as part of the AFC North division. They joined the NFL after moving from Cleveland to set up an extension franchise in the NFL’s now-defunct AFC Central division, ahead of the 1996 NFL season.

\r\n\\ \r\n

The move saw the city of Baltimore return to the NFL after a dozen years out. Their spell initially ended when the Baltimore Colts relocated to Indiana ahead of the 1984 NFL season. With a newly rebranded team, the city got behind the players wholeheartedly and stuck with them in their four seasons of struggle.

\r\n

The third season (1998 NFL season) saw Baltimore Ravens move from the historic Memorial Stadium where the Colts played for 30 years to the new MT Bank Stadium.

\r\n

Following the relocation, the team’s fortunes turned, and their three-season losing run ended. They finished the 1999 NFL season at 8-8 and in the next campaign; they proved to the league and the country that it wasn’t just a flash in the pan.

\r\n

The Ravens placed second in the AFC North and proceeded to the playoffs with a 11-5 overall record. The franchise won the Wildcard Round Playoffs against the Tennessee Titans 20-13. However, they would fall in the Division Playoffs to the Bills.

Baltimore Ravens Achievements

\r\n

The Ravens have excelled in their short time in the NFL with six divisional titles, two conference championships, and two Super Bowl wins.

\r\n

Their first Super Bowl win as Baltimore Ravens came in the 2000 NFL season. The Ravens cobbled a 12-4 record and finished in the six-team AFC Central behind Tennessee Titans.

\r\n

Over the course of the regular season, the team made waves over its robust defense that allowed opposing offenses to advance just 970 yards. They conceded just five rushing touchdowns, which stands as a record for a 16-game NFL season.

\r\n\\ \r\n

In the Playoffs, the Ravens’ defense remained imperious, and only the Titans who played them in the divisional round could reach double digits.

\r\n

On January 28, 2001, Baltimore decimated New York Giants 34-7 at Super Bowl XXXV. Linebacker Ray Lewis claimed the Super Bowl MVP award. He would go on to feature in the franchise's second Vincent Lombardi Trophy win a dozen years later.

\r\n

The win was the genesis of the team’s rise in the NFL. They did not fade away and remained a consistent feature in the NFL Playoffs. The Baltimore Ravens have made it past the regular season in 11 of the next 19 seasons, following the Super Bowl triumph.

\r\n\r\n

Owner Achievements

\r\n

The Baltimore Ravens are owned by Steve Bisciotti. He purchased part of the franchise ahead of the Super Bowl-winning season in 2000. Per the terms of the purchase, he had the option to buy the Ravens outright, and Biscotti exercised the option ahead of the 2004 NFL season.

\r\n\\ \r\n

He took a bold call to part ways with a Super Bowl-winning coach, but his new hire was justified. John Harbaugh came on board in the same season as Joe Flacco. The duo combined to take the Ravens to a franchise-best four successive postseason appearances and one Super Bowl for the 2012 NFL season.

\r\n\r\n

Lamar Jackson era

\r\n

The Baltimore Ravens made the most of many teams passing up on a Heisman winner and drafted him at #32 overall at the 2018 NFL draft. Lamar Jackson possessed supreme rushing skills, and many regarded him as a running back. However, he remained steadfast on wanting to play quarterback and the team gave him a chance.

\r\n\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_511030\" align=\"aligncenter\" width=\"1920\"]\Baltimore Jan 10, 2021; Nashville, Tennessee, USA; Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (8) celebrates after scoring a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans during the second quarter in a AFC Wild Card playoff game at Nissan Stadium. Jackson got his chance midway through the 2018 NFL campaign when Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco sustained an injury.

\r\n

In the team's second season with quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team put together the best run of the NFL regular season. Their 14-2 record had them pegged as Super Bowl favorites. However, they lost in the first playoff round. Nevertheless, the quarterback became only the second player to earn the regular season MVP award with a unanimous vote.

\r\n

The 2020 season saw Lamar Jackson aim to guide Baltimore Ravens to a third consecutive playoff appearance. His goal was to win a post-season game and lift the Vincent Lombardi Trophy. However, the Ravens fell to the Buffalo Bills in the Division Playoffs in a dismal 3-17 loss.

Baltimore Ravens Logo

\r\n

The Baltimore Ravens are a relatively new franchise. Yet they have hit headlines over their logo and had to shake things up near the turn of the century.

\r\n

The issue arose as the Baltimore dweller was peeved at not getting credit for a design similar to what he had given to the franchise.

\r\n\\ \r\n

After the jury ruled against the franchise, they elected to craft a new logo. The Baltimore Ravens dropped the helmet theme and adopted the crest they use even today. Chiefly, the insignia features a raven looking to the right with the gold-tinted letter 'B' plastered on the side of its head.

\r\n\r\n

Baltimore Ravens 2021 Sponsors

\r\n

Morgan Properties announced a new partnership with Baltimore Ravens with an aim to increase visibility and grow awareness of its multifamily offerings among prospective Mid-Atlantic renters. Moreover, Postmates partnered up with the Ravens alongside the Los Angeles Rams. Postmates provided an assurance to deliver gameday meals throughout the season.

\r\n

Leidos also came out with an announcement to partner up with the Ravens to spread awareness about the ongoing opioid epidemic through the 'Tackling Opioid Addiction' campaign. For every tackle made during the regular season, Leidos and the Ravens will donate $50 towards Baltimore--area nonprofit organizations.

Cleveland Browns 2021: News, Schedule, Roster, Score, Injury Report

\r\n

The Cleveland Browns were founded by Paul Brown and businessman Arthur B. McBride as a charter member of the All-American Football Conference in 1945. The early days of the AAFC were dominated by the Browns as they racked up an impressive 47-4-3 record through the league’s four seasons.  The Browns continued their dominance through the dissolution of the AAFC and joined up the NFL alongside the San Francisco 49’ers and the Baltimore Colts.

\r\n\\ \r\n

The club won their inaugural NFL season as well as the 1954, 1955, 1964 seasons. What’s more, they managed to pull off an unmatched feat by playing in their league championship game in each of the Browns’ first ten years of existence. However, the Browns weren’t able to maintain their upward trajectory much longer as they didn’t win another championship from 1965 to 1995 despite making the NFL playoffs 14 times.

\r\n

Since 1999, the Browns have continually struggled to find success. They have had only one playoff appearance in 2002 and only three winning seasons in 2002, 2007, and 2020. Additionally, there have been no playoff wins and winning less than one-third of their games in totality.  What’s more, the front office hasn’t seen much stability either with multiple Head Coaching changes since 1999 (10 full time and two interim).

\r\n\\ \r\n\r\nThe Cleveland Browns have improved on their 6-10 season from 2019 going 11-5 in 2020 and placed third in the AFC North. The franchise went on to win the Wild  Card round by upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers winning out 48-37.\r\n\r\nHowever, they went on to lose the divisional playoffs to the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs 17-22.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_518808\" align=\"aligncenter\" width=\"1920\"]\Patrick Jan 17, 2021; Kansas City, Missouri, USA; Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) is brought down by Cleveland Browns outside linebacker Mack Wilson (51) during the second half in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium. Logo

\r\n

The 1970s saw the Browns use their orange helmet as the logo with a facemask. In 1986, the franchise went for a dramatic overhaul that saw a more 3-D helmet model and an updated facemask. Some of the shadows were removed from the logo and the angle was altered in 1993.

\r\n\\ \r\n

Since 1999, the Browns have made quite a few changes to their logos. After the 2005 season, the team made a slight adjustment to the orange color of the helmet and to the grey facemask. A more recent iteration of the Cleveland Browns identity came in the form of a ‘safety’ orange-colored helmet.

\r\n\r\n

Cleveland Browns Owner Achievements

\r\n

Jimmy Arthur Haslam III is a sports executive who is the co-owner of the Cleveland Browns alongside his wife Dee Haslam. Additionally, he’s the CEO of the Pilot Flying J truck stop chain. His father, Jim Haslam founded the Pilot Corporation in 1958 as the Pilot Oli Corporation.

\r\n\\ \r\n

Furthermore, Haslam bought a minority interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008, and in 2012 he went on to purchase the Cleveland Browns for $1 billion. Forbes magazine valued the Browns at $977 million in 2011. The NFL rules prohibit ownership of multiple teams so Haslam sold his interest in the Steelers.

\r\n\r\n

Cleveland Browns 2021 Sponsors

\r\n

FirstEnergy Corp comes out as the naming rights sponsor of the Cleveland Browns. Arby’s Foundation had a tie-up with the Browns foundation wherein 520 students in need received free WiFi for one year to help a student who is engaged in their education and remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

\r\n

The Browns also have a deal with Splash Financial with a goal to help fans save money on their student loans. Moreover, Electronic Merchant Systems (EMS), a leading Cleveland based provider of merchant services and payment processing solutions. Through the partnership, EMS and the Browns have hosted the annual toy drive to benefit thousands of local kids during the holiday season.

NFL

\r\n

History

\r\nIn August 1920, representatives from four states- Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and Dayton- held a meeting and formed the American Professional Football Conference (APFC) to improve footballing standards in the country. A month later, they formed the American Professional Football Association (APFA) and played a league with 14 teams. In 1922, they changed the name to National Football League (NFL).\r\n\r\nIn 1960, a new professional league- American Football League (AFL) started as a competition to the NFL. After six years, in 1966, the two leagues announced a merger that would take effect from 1970. During the four years between the announcement and the actual merger, the leagues started playing a Championship game- The Super Bowl. Since their merger, the two leagues are being recognized as two conferences within the NFL.\r\n

Participating teams

\r\nThere are 32 teams in the NFL divided equally among the two conferences- National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). Each of the conferences is further divided into 4 divisions- East, North, South, and West- with each division containing four teams.\r\n\r\nAmerican Football Conference (AFC)\r\n\r\nEast\r\n

Washington Football Team 2021: News, Schedule, Roster, Score, Injury Report

\r\n

The Washington Football Team entered the professional football ranks as the Boston Braves for the 1932 season. A year later they changed their name to the Redskins. This stuck for 86 seasons. Washington renamed their football team ahead of the NFL 2020 season. The new name, Washington Football Team, is a placeholder as the decision-makers pick a more permanent name.

\r\n

\\

\r\n

The team moved South to Washington DC in 1937 and achieved instant success. They claimed the NFL Championship by beating the Chicago Bears. However, just 3 seasons down the line, they got walloped in the championship game by the same opponent.

\r\n

The 73-0 humbling remains professional football's most one-sided result. The Washington Redskins, as they were known, kept winning before an alarming collapse in the mid-1940s.

\r\n

\\

\r\n

They remained away from the Playoffs for 26 seasons. After 24 seasons of no Playoffs, the franchise roped in Green Bay Packers legend Vincent Lombardi to help the side turn things around.

\r\n

Lombardi had helped the Wisconsin based franchise to back to back Super Bowl wins. The Washington Football Team came into the 2020 NFL season with the second-worst record in the 2019 NFL season. They won just three games and earned the second overall draft pick. They managed to turn things around in a massive way with a berth that took them to a wild card playoff game in the 2020 season.

\r\n\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_486565\" align=\"aligncenter\" width=\"1920\"]\Chase Nov 26, 2020; Arlington, Texas, USA; Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young (99) warms before the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Football Team at ATT Stadium. The franchise drafted prospect Chase Young; they hired coach Ron Rivera to help turn things around. Furthermore, d espite the name change, the team has retained its uniform colors of Burgundy and Gold.

\r\n

In a stacked NFL East division alongside the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles, the newly renamed Washington Football Team will have its work cut out.

\r\n\r\n

Washington Football Team Owner Achievements

\r\n

Advertising executive Daniel Snyder serves as principal owner of the Washington Football Team. He purchased the team for $800 million ahead of the 1999 NFL season, where they finished atop the NFC East.

\r\n

\\

\r\n\r\n

Washington Football Team Achievements

\r\n

The Washington Football Team boasts of five NFL season-ending game wins, including three wins in the Super Bowl era. All three Super Bowl wins came in a 10-year span between 1982 to 1991.

\r\n

\\

\r\n

In this spell, they attempted to join a select few teams to have retained the trophy. However, they came up short in the 1983 Super Bowl and had to be content with being NFC Champions. They claimed the NFC title on five occasions and have won their respective division on 14 occasions.

\r\n

Washington Football Team has featured 24 times in the playoffs with their latest postseason appearance coming for the 2015 NFL season.

\r\n

Three players have clinched the NFL regular season MVP in a Washington NFL jersey. These are Larry Brown (1972), Mark Moseley (1982), and Joe Theismann (1983).

\r\n

The franchise improved upon their 2019 season record that stood at 3-13. They placed first in the NFC East with a 2020 campaign record of 7-9. However, they would be defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-31 in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs.

\r\n\r\n

Logo

\r\n

The Washington franchise has had multiple logos in their tenure as an NFL team. Under their previous name, the team had a variety of logos.

\r\n

\\

\r\n

Most of the designs depicted a native American within a circle. However, after the logo and name controversy that prompted the team to change their name, the franchise opted to take time before rebranding themselves in earnest. As a result, they opted to rename themselves as the Washington Football Team.

\r\n

\\

\r\n

Their logo is basically the letter 'W' written in gold font with a burgundy background. This indicates that the team will do its best to keep its colors despite a new name, which will come soon.

\r\n\r\n

Washington Football Team 2021 Sponsors

\r\n

The Washington Football Team steered clear of disaster in 2020 when they almost lost some massive name sponsors due to the name-change controversy. Owner Daniel Snyder ignored the initial cries to have the Redskins name changed leading to the potential loss of Nike, FedEx, and PepsiCo. Nike is the official apparel supplier of the NFL and PepsiCo, the team beverage and snack partner.

\r\n

The biggest hit would have potentially been from FedEx which is the naming sponsor of the team’s home stadium. FedEx threatened to end its naming rights deal for the stadium after the upcoming season which would have prematurely ended the $205 million deal scheduled to run through the 2025 season.

\r\n\r\n

Washington Football Team 2021 Roster Foundation

The roster following the 2020 regular season comprises three quarterbacks, four running backs, six wide receivers, three tight ends, nine offensive linemen, eight defensive linemen, eight linebackers, nine defensive backs, and three special teams players.

They provide support and services to nearly 178, 000 individuals (mostly children) with a focus on education, health, and wellness.  Additionally, the FITT (frequency, Intensity, Time Type)- a youth health and wellness initiative.

\r\n

Moreover, the Loads of Love campaign installed washers and dryers in schools that serve students who lack access to clean clothes. Not to mention, the READ campaign makes an effort to make reading more fun in elementary school. The program centers around an in-school learning tool with monthly prompts for students to analyze books of their choice and much more.
